cannot open excel file

When i try to open any excel file i get the following
message:


Filename cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or
you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or, the
server the document is stored on may not be responding.



Please note i have windows 2000 pro edition
office 2000
AND i save my files on a flash disk usb(512 mb)

i tryed to open the same file on several other OS and
diffrent office (2000,2002,2003)


I received the same message .
PS i found the problem on mkba 265103 but not the solution

I am having the same problem right now. In my case, there
is an accidentally deleted XL2000 file that I was able to
restore. However, when I tried to open it, I got the same
error message.

"Filename cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only,
or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or,
the server the document is stored on may not be
responding."
