Cannot open Attachments

Hello...
I have windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007.
If I try to open an attachment (usually powerpoint or word) I no longer get
the option to just open the attachment. I have to save it to the desktop.
Then I can open Powerpoint or Word and only once that program is open can I
open the attachment through it.
I went in Control Panel to verify if my settings were correct and they are
the pps file is associated with Microsoft Powerpoint 2007..
I am stuck... not sure what else to try... anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like they have been manually added to the Level1Remove registry key.
Remove them from it and try again. For more info see;
