Cannot open after upgrade to 2003 Pro

Upon opening Outlook after upgrading to Office Pro 2003 I receive the
following error message: "Unable to open your default email folders. Create
a new profile by double-clicking on the Mail Icon in the Control Panel,
clicking Show Profiles, and then clicking Add. After creating the new
profile, make it your default by selecting it, then clicking Always to use
this profile." Not only do I not want a different profile, but clicking the
"OK" button in the error message closes Outlook, so I can't even follow the
instructions.

This is my 4th install/uninstall with the same result. I have downloaded
and installed all updates prior to attempting to open Outlook.

It has always been the case that after an upgrade installation you must
create a new profile. You most certainly want one and you most certainly can
follow the instructions. Read them. You're not following them. Of course
Outlook closes. It must. It's already telling you to use Control Panel >
Mail to create your profile.
If I were you, I'd read up on what you're doing:
