Cannot login to Win2k domain Controller in Directory Service Restoration Mode

Hi,

I accidentally deleted a Certificate on the Win2K(SP4) Domain
Controller where Certificate Authority service is installed.
Now I cannot start the CA server any more. It is showing following
error message:

"Cannot find object or property 0x80092004.(-2146885628)"

So I just tried to restore the "system state" from yesterday's full
backup.

(Here comes the strange behavior of windows..:-()
when I reboot the domain controller in Directory Service Restoration
Mode..
I cannot login(local) to the server anymore with the administrativ
User account and password..
actually I can't login at all. I

As the active directory database is not completely damaged..so when I
reboot the server in normal mode ..I can login with the same
administrativ user account. And all the other services except
Certificate Authority Service are running without any problem.

The only possible cause I can think of is that the Administrator
account of the AD domain controller has a different login name. It is
"sysmasta".
In the Login window I tried with all these possible account name
"Administrator", "administrator" and "sysmasta" but no luck :-(

It's so weird..

I will be thankful if you share your idea about this problem...

thanks for your help:)

You will have to restore the system state from an earlier backup prior to
deleting the certificate. If you can not login at the DS Restore Mode you
will need to run the setpwd command at a command prompt. When you login to
DS Restore Mode AD is offline. The password for the administrator account is
set on a per machine basis when dcpromo was run. If you do not know it or
cannot remember what it is set to , run setpwd. Login and restore the system
state. By default the system state will back up the Cert server.
