cannot login to pop3 server after test account works

Hi. I have Outlook 2003 installed on my home computer. I cannot send and
receive anymore. I added my pop3 e-mail account and run the "test account
setting" function, and everything checks out ok and I get the e-mail on my
e-mail account when I check it through their webmail application. However,
when I do send and receive from Outlook, i get a request for the network
password, and when I enter it it doesn't connect and I get the following
message:

"Task 'Main Verizon - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail
server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your
account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server
responded: -ERR Missing argument'"

It should also be noted that the same exact settings I am using in this
outlook do work with Outlook Express on the same computer and with Outlook on
two other computers.

The problems with this copy of outlook started when I imported some of the
mail from my work computer. It started giving me a message that I wasn't
authorized to send and receive. I subsequently unistalled Outlook 2003 from
the computer and reinstalled it twice and I have also changed and created new
profiles, and the problem still remains.

Does anybody have any idea of what the problem could be?

Thanks.

If you did not get the message in Outlook itself, your settings are wrong.
Web site delivery means you can send, but not receive. Ask your ISP for the
correct server settings. You might have Secure Server set, when it is not
necessary or Secure Password--SPA, when that is normally not necessary. Check
the Verizon web site for correct settings for Outlook if you cannot reach
their support people.

Thanks Mary, the settings are correct. The same exact settings work in
another copy of Outlook on another computer, and the Test works. It appears
that when I send through send/receive something happens.
