Cannot load some images from IE7/Vista

Hardy Wang

Hi all,
I bought a new HP computer loaded with VISTA with IE7 of course. While I
navigated web pages I found I was not able to load images from some web
sites. One example is Google Map. No matter what do I do with IE7 setting
(lowest security, lowest privacy) I have no luck at all. For some web sites,
only partial of images are loaded by IE7 (CAPTCHA for example could not be
loaded).

I have another machine inside same network with XP and IE7, I have no
problem to see all images.

Anybody has idea what is the problem?

Thanks for any suggestion.

Hi,
First clear your Temporary Internet Files from Internet Options> General>
Browsing History> Delete> (next screen) Delete files. Also, set the size of
the cache to 60-80 MB... Internet Options> General> Browsing History>
Settings

Next, you may have an incompatible browser add-on.
See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp
for troubleshooting information.

The troublesome program may not show up as an add-on. Disable other
security, privacy, ad-blocking programs to see if one of them is causing the
problem.

You might try this test *very* briefly (no more than 15-20 seconds) because
you'll be running with security programs shutdown...
Startup in Safe Mode with Networking.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=315222 If the problem goes
away, a program that didn't load in Safe Mode is causing it.

A third-party firewall might be causing this problem. Be sure to turn on the
Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall before disabling a
third-party firewall or security suite during testing.

Hope this helps,
Don

Hi Don,

I checked, IE7 of Vista cannot load PNG file type only.

All settings are correct.

the file.I double clicked the REG file, but I got some error message
something like, some registry keys are being used by system or applications,
action failed.

Any idea?

I rebooted to Safe Mode, and the first thing I did was to merge registry
keys. I still got same error, some keys are being used by system or other
processes.

No Luck...
Hi,
Try running (merging) the REG file with no other programs running. You
might
even try starting up in Safe Mode before merging the file.

Start Vista in Safe Mode
