Cannot load patch

I have just downloaded IE 6.0. I was then instructed by a
customer to download the comprehensive patch for 6.0
available at Microsoft's site. When I attempted to do
this, I received a message saying I needed to have version
6.0 before loading the patch. I then went to attempt to
download 6.0 again, thinking I didn't finish the process
correctly the first time. I got a message, however,
saying that 6.0 was already installed, and that I should
not attempt to re-install it.

Any ideas as to what the solution might be?
