when trying to load xp everything goes smoothly until file
copying which abruptly stops at between 45-60 %.I have
converted the file system to nfts in the full manner. There
usually follows an error page "page-fault-in-non-page-
area" and I'm advised to disable caching or shadowing in
the bios.I tried disabling L1 L2 cache but this made it
worse and I cannot see anything relating to shadowing in
my bios.I'v visited the motherboard site without success
too.Hopefully someone can advise and offer help. Thanks

This sounds strange, but I have experinced this twice.
If you are running an AMD processor, and if you have two
hard drives in the system, this occurs frequently. You
have to physically disconnect the IDE cable from your
slave drive and make sure that that the master is
configured as a master drive by itself.

Once you install XP on the master and get it running,
reconnect the slave and it will see it just fine.
