Cannot install new printer

AFAIK I have made no system changes since the last device I installed (an
IRDA receiver). I have just bought a new printer - a Mitsi dye-sub - and I
am having problems installing it. Whichever path I go down I end up with
the message:

An exception occurred while trying to run
C:\Windows\System32\sysdm.cpl,NoExecute ProcessException
C:\Windows\System32\rundll.exe

I have tried a system restore but with no effect.

Any ideas, anyone, please?

Thanks for the reply: just found it myself and chopped DEP in boot.ini. Is
there any reason why I shouldn't re-start it now the installation is done?
