Hi, I was using this joy stick with my older computer & Windows 98.
Since I now have purchased a new computer with Windows Home Version
XP, I cannot install this joy Stick. The message I get is the
following "SideWinder Game Device Software 3.X installs drivers that
are not incompatable with this version of Windows". I also get
another message as follows " A limitation exists with your computer
resourses or configuration. Setup cannot install SideWinder
Controller Software on your current operating system." Thanking You

Use the Games Controller applet in Control Panel. Use "Add" button to
select the "Sidewinder (autodetect)" device.
Don't expect any drivers that worked under a 95-based (DOS + Win32 kernels)
Windows to work on an NT-based Windows. You need new drivers. Microsoft is
no longer providing support for their old Sidewinder drivers. You have to
use the drivers that are included in Windows XP. This will only provide you
driver support. Functions, like programmability of buttons, probably won't
be included since that was part of the software utility that you loaded to
provide additional support of the hardware (beyond what the driver
supported).
