Recently I had to reformat my harddrive. Immediately after the install I
tried to install drivers for my mobo, but I couldn't because I got an "access
denied" error. I thought it might have had something to do with
administrative privs (even though this is the only account I created, and it
is an admin acct), so I restarted the computer, hit F8, and logged in as
administrator in safe mode. At this point, it appeared that I installed the
drivers, but now when I log in as myself, I go to device manager and it shows
the devices I installed (SMBus Controller, PCI Mem Controller, etc) without
the question mark, but now they are showing up with a little yellow
exclamation point. I go to properties and it says "The drivers for this
device are not installed. (Code 28) To reinstall the drivers for this
device, click Reinstall Driver." I tried to reinstall the driver and was
successfull on the PCI mem ctrlr, but the SMBus gives me access denied again.
