CANNOT INPUT TEXT IN TEXT BOXES-no cursor

When i open IE and try to input any kind of text in a text
box, example Username/Password...., it will not let me type
anything. THere is not even that "I" cursor present, all i
can do is TAB through the "links". What is the problem an
the solution. IE problem is affecting instant messenger
connections and viewing also.
i am forced to use Netscape as a browser which i dont like.

Can you paste a string in the Box?
