Cannot host FTP site

I have tried everything, several different clients, and I can connect to FTP
site in other places. But I cannot get anyone but myself from my own
computer to log into my site.

Also, BulletProof server detects that I have a different IP than what all
the whatsmyipaddress.com sites detect. I use that IP, and I can connect to
myself. I use what the site tells me, and I get nothing and all servers
cannot get online.

I only have Windows firewall working, and it prompts me for nothing. I am
sure that all other firewalls are off and shut down.

I am sure I am speaking for many people when I say please... help me!

You also may need to whitelist your FTP server in the firewall. Since it
probably runs as a service, and the firewall never prompts for things
running as services, you would never see a popup.

You'll need to hunt down the executable name of the FTP Server. Task
Manager may be a good start, or the documentation for the server. Then, go
into the Windows Firewall control panel, click on the Exceptions tab, click
"Add Program..." and browse to the location of the executable to select it.

You will need to restart the BulletProof FTP server before the firewall
mapping takes effect, since the firewall determines whether or not to block
the ports at the time the server tries to listen on them. Since the server
will (likely) be running when you make the configuration, it has also
already tried to listen so that decision is already made.

It sounds as if you have another device between your computer and the
internet as well. Perhaps a cable or DSL modem, or a "broadband router"
device. You will also need to configure THAT device to redirect port 21 on
the internet side to the computer with the FTP server. The instructions for
doing that vary wildly by device, so check with the user manual or with your
ISP (in the case where you only have a cable or DSL modem).
