Repost your query in this thread specifying
1. How you attempt to boot Safe Mode (which keys?)
2. Whether your normal boot routine shows any
sort of a menu? BOOT.INI should usually have as its
last line something like (all on one line):
\WINDOWS="WinXP Safe Mode" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
/safeboot:network /SOS /bootlog
