When using Excel and typing in a date some cell will show a railrodtrack
looking symbol. How do I correct this?

If you ask in an Excel group instead of a Word group you're more likely to
find the answer... But this time you got lucky :-)

The ##### indicate that the formatted date (or value) in the cell is too
wide to be displayed - IOW the column isn't wide enough. Increase the column
width or change the formatting to something that fits.
