cannot format 160G HD completely

hi there,

i'm using a 845G motherboard, just bought a new 160 HD. BIOS managed to
recognize the new HD, said it's a 160G HD. however, in my Windows XP
SP2 system, i failed to format the full size of this HD. i could make a
partition up to 130G around and format it in NTFS, the rest couldn't be
formatted anymore....

Sounds like the 137GByte limit but you should be ok if the BIOS sees 160G
and you have SP2 according to....

Try the latest bios for that motherboard.

And clear the drive with clearhdd first before attempting to format again.
