WindowsXP, I.E.6, ZoneAlarm5.1.011(free version), DSL connection.
I'm experiencing a random connectivity problem that occurs after my
computer comes out of the standby mode. I'm receiving cannot find server or
cannot find page messages. I can reboot or disable zonealarm and connection
is fine. But, the time frame is short... I do not experience the problem,
Yet should my computer be in the standby mode for a long period of time I
will not be able to connect without rebooting.
One tech at my ISP said that ZoneAlarm was in a lock-down mode and that I
need to contact ZoneAlarm. Another tech has advised me to use my device
manager/open Network adapters, (Realtek)/Properties/Power Management and
select one of the boxes. "Allow the computer to bring the computer out of
standby" or "Only allow management stations to bring the computer out of
standby."
Being a newbie, I would appreciate some direction and advice as to which of
the recommendation (if either) would be appropriate. Thank you.
