cannot find printer after sharing

Ok..I have made the printer on our desktop to share. But when I tried to add
printer on my laptop, I cannot find the printer. I re started both computers
and its the same thing. What am I doing wrong? Is there anything else I have
to do so I can print from my laptop?

I have the same problem. Have you figured out what's wrong? It doesn't look
like anyone here is going to offer a solution.

Yes looks like this is a very common problem with no solution to it. My only
guess of getting the printer to work with other computers is to buy a printer
server and connect it to the DSL or cable router. That way the printer is on
the network. I do have a brother laser printer that already has a network
connection so I connected it to the router and I can print from any computer.

Glad you are up and printing. I was told that a print server was the best
(easiest) solution too. My daughter has the same setup with 2 desktops and 2
laptops and can access the printers from any of the PCs, and she does not
have a printer server. Her husband told me it took him several attempts over
a period of a month to get it working. has to be a better way.
