Cannot find *.NK2 to clear auto complete cache

M

Marcus Phass

I am trying to follow the procedure described in MSKB under Q287623 -
"How to Reset the Nickname and Automatic Completion Cache In Outlook
2003 and Outlook 2002", but the system cannot find any files that
match *.NK2 although I did everything that is described in the above
menitioned article. I have WinXP, OfficeXP and I am working under
normal User account (not Administrator).

In what directory should this file be?

TIA

Try configuring Windows Explorer to show you all hidden/system files.
(under tools > folder options > view.) Now try you search, but this time
verify that your advanced search properties will look for hidden/system
files. If you do this right, the files should turn up under...

\documents and settings\<userid>\application data\microsoft\outlook or
\documents and settings\<userid>\local settings\application
data\microsoft\outlook
