Cannot Edit Registry

I had a w32 sybot worm and although I have deleted allthe
infected files, I still cannot get into the registry, nor
will it allow me to get onto symantecs website. When I
type regedit, I get "Registry editing has been disabled
by your administrator". Iam the administrator. I have
Windows XP Pro. Can anyone assist me? Thank you

For the symantecs website issue, it is most likely your hosts file
that needs cleaning:
