Cannot edit an imported Access table

I just imported data from an excel table into an access 2002 database. I
cannot, however, edit the table (ie. delete a record, add a primary key,
etc.)

Why?

I imported it. I tried importing direct from a Paradox table. I also tried
exporting the Paradox table to an Excel spreadsheet and a TXT file and then
importing it to the Access table and I still can't make changes to the table.
The "Properties" is disabled in the table's submenu.

Carl,

Did you import into a new table? If so you should be able to do anything
with the field properties you'd like.

Yes I did, and thats what is perplexing me.

well, it's perplexing me as well...
I just imported an excelfile myself and was able to edit anything in the
fieldproperties.

Try converting your sourcedata to a csv file. When you've done that try the
[advanced] option when you choose import. Under the advanced options you
might be able to edit some settings. Notice: in the dialog you can size the
columns(the fieldsize is actually a hidden column).

You might think you imported, but you linked. A local table cannot be made read
only even if you wanted it that way.

My thoughts exactly Rick,

Carl, can you see a little arrow in front of your table? If so you did link
the table instead of importing it..
