Cannot draw DHCP address

I've got a WinXP SP2 computer that cannot draw an IP address from a Linksys
router. No errors in the log, the network icon in the system tray indicates
that it is trying the network connection but cannot draw an IP address.
Setting a static IP address allows the computer on the network with no
problems. Other computers on the same network have no problems.
Suggestions?

Make sure that the DHCP Client Service is running:

1. Right click My Computer, and click Manage.
2. Double click Services and Applications.
3. Double click Services.
4. Double click DHCP Client. If the Service status is Stopped, click
Start.
5. Set the Startup type to Automatic.

If that doesn't help, see if there are any relevant messages in Event
Viewer. To run it, click Start | Control Panel | Performance and
Maintenance | Administrative Tools | Event Viewer. For more
information, see:

Thanks for the input. I had already checked that, as well as checked the
router providing DHCP services. Everything looked fine at the time,
however, now it appears to be the router causing the issues. Thanks for
responding.
