When I try to download an update or patch, the status bar
says the file is downloading, then a new window opens, it
says Done at the bottom of the page, and nothing displays
except for .gif placeholder icon (like those that display
when an image can't be displayed on a page). I don't get
any errors, and the dialogue box that allows you to save
or run from current location is never displayed.
Windows Update and Office update sites work fine - this
problem only occurs when I try to download a single
program. I've tried lowering my security settings in
Internet Options - doesn't make any difference. I'm on
XP Pro, IE 6.0, SP-1.
