Just had my system reinstalled, windows XP home edition, we have 2 users on
the windows xp desktop, sometimes when you click on one or switch users we
get a black screen with this message in white all cap letters "CANNOT DISPLAY
THIS VIDEO MODE" and the screen freezes. You cannot do ctrl/alt/del; you
must turn off computer by hitting the power button. I took the machine back
in to the shop, they reset monitor settings to 60 Hertz, but they did not
have my monitor to test it. I took it home and after a few times, it
appeared again. Any suggestions would help.

The message may be referring to the resolution.

If you have an LCD monitor, you should run it at its native resolution.

If you have a CRT monitor, you should run it at a resolution that is
supported by your monitor.

To view and change video resolution: Control Panel > Display > Settings tab
