Cannot Disable Local Area Connection

Hi,

I can't seem to disable my Local Area Connection. It always gives me the
error:

"Error Disabling Connection- It is not possible to disable the connection at
this time. This connection may have one or more protocols that do not support
Plug-and-Play, or it may have been initiated by another user or system
account."

My computer has been checked my a security professional so I have no viruses
or spyware. The account I'm on is an admistrator account so i have the
rights to disable it. The drivers all seem fine and they haven't been
touched or changed at all for my network card.

I believe the issue maybe due to my catalog files. I ran qfecheck and it
said a lot of my windows update files had:

"The catalog file is damaged or an invalid catalog."

I checked manually the file versions and in the registry and they were al
correct. Even the timestamps and the size of the file matched what was in
the knowledge bases so it's gotta be something else.

Is the catalog being damaged the problem to my not being able to disable my
LAN connection or is it something else? And how would I fix it? Thanks

You're completely dude! You've probably installed too many Windows Updates,
that's why one of the multiple reasons for which your computer is unstable. I
suspect that you've also tried to combine public updates with the so-called
"pre-SP3" privates. Mike Brannigan, a Microsoft employee, warned users about
potential harm that can occur when installing too many updates, especially
those "pre-SP3" privates, which are generally intended to fix certain
specific problems. Other symptoms? Driver Signing policy set to "warn" by
default, even with that feature set to "ignore" and disabled. Also, USB
devices couldn't be recognized and didn't work.
