Cannot deleted search field on toolbar

J

James

A new feature has appeared on my IE toolbar next to the
address/location bar. It is a search field with a drop
down menu and "go" button. If I right click the menu bar,
a checked option called "Search" or something shows up
along with Standard Buttons,Address Bar, Links, etc. ..
If I uncheck this search tool option, the search field
goes away. But every time I launch IE again or even a new
window, IE does not remember my preference to have the
search tool off and it reappears (I have to turn it off
every time) It look like a Microsoft IE feature. My
updated spybot says my PC is clean. Need help keeping
this search tool feature off! Don't want it. Does this
thing come from a patch or critical update to windows?

My sign on for spywareinfo.com/forums/ is jtg but I have
not done it yet. I'm at school and the problem is with my
computer at home. I have to drive home tonight to
download and run "Hijack This". May be a couple of days
before I can get to it with homework and work ... Thanks
a lot for your interest in helping people. I'll get it
done as soon as I can.
