cannot delete shortcut desktop icons

i had shortcuts for "my computer" and "my document" icons
and i restored the default icons but now that i want to
delete these shortcuts...it says: "cannot delet file:
cannot find the source file or disk" and the shortcut
remains on the desktop. somebody help please...its
annoying have two of each icon on my desktop.

Try this........
Go to Display properties
Pick Desktop (tab)
Pick Customize Desktop (button - botton of window)
Make desired changes to Desktop Icons section (top)

Hi,

Right click the Recycle Bin/Properties/Check: Do Not Move Files to the
Recycle Bin...then try again.
