Cannot delete printer port

Printer Server is Windows 2000.
Recently changed our IP Scope and in the process of trying
to reconfigure our printers have run up against a problem
when we try to delete the old printer ports.
Error message is "Cannot delete printer port".
Have tried stopping the spooler, rebooting the server but
no luck at all.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Why do you want to delete them?
No one will care if they exist or not.
