I moved a hard drive from one computer to another one and cannot format
that drive because it contains some "system" files. I am running Windows XP
Professional. How can I delelte thiese unwanted files so that I can reformat
this hard drive?

Exactly how are trying to format it? In general, what it contains, or
even whether it contains anything, doesn't matter.

Format it with the XP system disk.

Do not use this drive as drive zero, and attempt to format while within
windows, won't work.

boot using install cd and tell the install to format the hd.
