Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk. - Help?

Hey Everyone,

Take a look under NTFS File System Corruption. I called MS support with the
incident because none of the options in the KB helped (and the KB mentions
calling MS. Well when I called them he refuted the KB as being "right" and
told me I had a new virus or malware... that is the dumbest thing I have
heard. Anyway, does anyone know how to repair my $BITMAP table with out a
format? I just formatted last week!

Did you connect to the internet before installing a firewall and antivirus
software, and before enabling said software? If so, then it is very
possible you do have some type of malware - last report, it takes a maximum
of 5 seconds for an "unprotected" windows machine to become infected when
connected to the internet.

Last time I tested that theory it took me 7 seconds . This of course was
on a client's machine.

I'm behind a router, all forwarding is off or not directed towards this
machine, anti-virus installed and then connected to the network, all updates
are done then. The other computers in the network are secure or virus free.

Just a little background: I'm a network engineer with a lot of experience
under my belt.

If you follow the link that I posted with you will see my exact problem. I
believe it has nothing to do with Malware as my problem and situation is
described 100% accurately within that knowlege base.

Basically my question is, how do I replace or repair the $MFT and $BITMAP
"files" within NTFS structure. It's pretty deep in to NTFS territory but who
knows.
