Cannot delete directory

Even if my directory is empy, I cannot delete it. Windows XP error: "Cannot
delete xxx: The directory is not empty."

- check for hidden files
- check for hidden files that are open (by Operating system, another
user, or a program you are running)
- check for hidden files that you don't have permission to access.
