A file was loaded onto my desktop without my permission
and I am unable to delete it. When I try it says:

Cannot delete 'filename': Access is denied.

Make sure that the disk is not full or write protected
and that the file is not currently in use.

If some one knows how to fix this can you emal me at
(e-mail address removed)
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Try deleting the entire directory and see if it helps:
Open a MS-DOS box and type "rd /s <drive:\folder name>
[Deletes the folder recursively]

File:
Delete the file in Safe Mode
or
Open Task Manager end task "explorer.exe", attempt to delete the file now.

If this does not help, Use process explorer (www.sysinternals.com) to see
which process has locked that file.

** Plz skip the first method (the rd /s). It deletes all other files. **

Proceed to next steps.

Right click on it and see if the Properties has a Security page - in
which to highlight yourself and check the Full Control box. You may
have to be logged in with Administrator status to do so
