Hello everyone,

I was trying to deactivate Windows XP using the procedure found at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;328874 but without
any lack so far. Even though I'm following the whole procedure 100%, when I
issue a %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a, I just get a screen saying
that Windows is already activated. Can someone please help me out?

I've also tried deleting the file %SystemRoot%\System32\wpa.dbl and from
%SystemRoot%\System32\dllcache\wpa.dbl and the only thing I get is an error
in the Event Log but Windows remain activated...

Please, help me out, I'm going insane!!!

Why do you want to "deactivate"?

This is only for Volume Licensed version of Windows XP Pro. Unless you are a
company and have a VLA license (5 PCs or more on the same license) this is not
for you. You probably have an XP OEM or Retail version.

I DO have a VL of Windows XP, I'm working for a Company, this is not about
"my" workstation. The thing is, our Product Key has leaked and we've got a
new one. This is what my problem is; I can't install the new one to my
workstations.

So, can someone help me out? Anyone else has seen this before?
