Cannot connect with MSN Messenger 7

I've tried the changes suggested here for getting MSN Msgr 7 to actually
connect and I still can't get it to work. Any Other suggestions??? Does
anyone have a suggestion as to the next best messenger program?

Just in case, have you tried going to "Tools > Options > Connections >
Advanced Settings" and unchecking all but "HTTP Proxy"? Seems to be THE fix
if you're running BoneAlarm. BTW, don't change the port...
