Are you using a router? Make sure it's not blocking you. Also check you
network card advanced settings. it has a list of ports that can be secured.
No, I'm not using a router.
My Internet connection is through an internal modem, with a dial-up account.
One set of "Advanced" settings is from within the Windows Firewall, note the following
from my previous post;
Also, in Control Panel > Network Connections > Local Area Connection "Properties"
General Tab > Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) "Properties" > Advanced
Linksys NC100 Fast Ethernet Adapter
IP Settings Tab:
IP Address: 192.168.0.1 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 (Static Address for home network w/ICS)
Gateways: none
DNS Tab:
DNS server addresses: none
WINS Tab:
WINS addresses: none
BetBIOS setting: default
Options Tab:
TCP/IP filtering: none
Control Panel > Network Connections > Local Area Connection "Properties" > Advanced Tab
Windows Firewall "Settings"
Off (See clip from previous post above.)
As far as I'm aware. the FTP ports are not blocked. (See ping results in
previous post, I can ping some FTP sites, though not access them otherwise.)
The above network card connects to two other computers, through an EZ500-S
GigaFast Ethernet 5 Port 10/100Mbps N-Way Switch. These are an AST575
running RedHat Linux 6.2, and an even older AST466 that I need to
re-install Win95 on. The Win98 currently installed on it, is just too much
for it.
