Cannot connect to AD from workstation admin tools utility

K

Kip

When I try to use the "Active Directory Users and
Computers" utility from the Administrative Tools menu on
a Windows XP workstation, I get the following error:

Snap-in failed to initalize
Name: <unknown>
CLSID:{xxxxx-xxxxxxx...}

This occurs on all workstations that are trying to
administer the AD. This started occuring after
attempting to install NAM 3.0 on a Windows 2000 server.
NAM 3.0 did not work as expected and we backed out of
it. After the backout is when these errors began to
occur.

Thoughts?

Does anyone recognize this symptom?

Try reinstaling the admin tools on the clients that you removed the software
from.
