Hi, I'm Choo.

I have a problem with one of the computers joined to the Windows 2003 Server
domain controller.

The computer can perform CD burning using the "CD Writing Tasks" in My
Computer when it is logged on locally. However, when I use a domain user
account to login to the machine, I cannot see the CD Writing Tasks.

I have tried to add the Domain user as a member of an Administrator. It
still couldn't work.

Is there any patch to this problem?

Appreciate if anyone in the forum could help me with this technical problem.

Thanks.

The group policy of your domain is disabling the CD burning features.

If this was done by design, then you can't change it, unless you are a
domain admin.

Look in User Configuration--Admin Templates--Windows Components--Windows
Explorer
Remove CD Burning Features

Hi, Mark.

Thanks for your reply. I have checked the GPO for the "Remove CD burning
features". It has been set to "Disabled". I have forced the GPO to refresh
using the command "gpupdate /force". However, the domain user account is
still unable to view the "CD Writing Tasks" on the "My COmputer" window.

Any other areas which I need to modify?

Choo

Hi, Mark.

May I know what should I set in the local policy? At current, the user
accounts are all in the W2K3 domain controller.

I have tried to login to the client computer using a Domain Administrator
account and I can see the CD burning wizard. Hmmm...I wonder what could go
wrong.

Regards,
Choo
