Using xp prof SP2 and have problems with NIS 2005. After
resolving/re-install the NIS, I do windowsupdates customsie method and
install all the available ones.. After the downloads, the pc cannot reboot.
When I on the pc, it goes as far the the xp logo with the blinking light
going from left to right for a while and after that the screen went black and
the moniotr light goes from green to orange, and the power of the pc still
on. What can I do to get back my system. Please help, thanks

Try starting to last known good config [F8 key after POST] , if it fails
next try starting in safe mode, if still no go do a repair install, then
uninstall NIS and try doing the updates without NIS.
If it all works OK reinstall NIS if you must, but there's a message in
all this upheaval, get a better AV.

Its possible that you downloaded a graphics driver among these updates, try
booting into safe mode and doing a driver rollback on your graphics driver

Li and Steve,
Tried LKC and Safe mode, no luck (as the xp logo comes on and blinking light
goes from Left to Right and later monitor light green change to orange.)

So, tried to repair but now I get a dual boot instead in C drive. So tried
to instal NIS in the new xp but failed. So, do an on-line NIS scan and found
6 Adware virus and since NIS removal website is down, so go to do a
windowsupdate (using customise) and see what I got//

At restart, it cannot boot. This is really giving a real headache.Just dont
know what to do. Must I do a clean installation or must we have to take that
route everytime wne we are in trouble. It should be more than that....... any
suggestion please
