Cannot Attach files to Email

I have a major problem. for the past few days I haven't been able to attach
files to my email (mutiple hotmail accounts and gmail account).

It keeps telling me there was no connection or problem with ther sever, some
crap like that.

anyway I'm convinced this is a problem with my system because I don't have
any problems when I'm using any other computers.

Now the wierd this is on this same computer, I'm able to download large
files. uplaod files onto websites.

the only problem I'm having is uplaoding attachments into my email.

It's really frustratig me. Anybody know what to do?

I have Windows XP Pro serv pack 2.

actually I have an update. the problem is intermitent with the computers.
There are 3 computer at my crib and they all unable to send attachments. I
guess it is indeed an internet problem.

Both Firfox and IE generate the same error:
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in
a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy,
make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I realy need help with this. I figure it might a setting or something I have
to change. don't have a clue what to do. thanks

After looking through quite a few posts in a Google Groups search, I
narrowed the search parameters even more, and found the following, well,
"interesting" post:
