I have a client who, after a power outage, can not start his Xp Pro
system. He gets an error message that c:\windows\system has a missing file
and run the repair utility to replace the file. This would not work so I
put the HD in another XP Pro system and cannot access the c:\documents and
settings\his user folder. It says that access is denied. All other folders
are accessible fine. I ran chkdsk and it found no errors and scanned with
Norton and it is clean. Any Ideas??
He would like to backup his My Documents, etc. before doing a clean XP
install to get the system up and running again.

Log in as Administrator on the working system with the damaged hard
drive slaved. Take ownership of the documents that need to be backed
up.
