Cannot Access My Private Documnets Folder

I recently executed a system restore for windows XP home
on my system due to a virus. My user account had a
private My Documents setting on so noone else could
access it. When i did the system restore, it locked the
folder out to everyone and now i do not know how to gain
access to it again. please help!
