Hi,
I'm having a problem accessing another computer
in a local network. Both computers are on the
same workgroup, and connected to a Linksys router.
Both computers are logged in using the same username
and password.
From computer_A, I see both computers in network neighborhood.
I can get to the share on computer_A withough any problem.
But although I can ping computer_B, I get an access error
when I click on the name of this computer in network neighborhood.
From computer_B, I cannot even access the workgroup in Windows
Explorer. I get timeouts when pinging computer_A (The name gets
resolved to the IP address, but packets don't return).
I've checked eveything on computer_B -- ICF (off), client for
Microsoft Networks, File/printer sharing, server service,
workstation service, security policy, etc. -- but cannot figure out
what needs to be done. I've tried simple file sharing on Computer_A
as well as "not simple" (i.e., shared to specific users).
Please help. Thanks.
