Cannnot turn-off a reminder In MS Outlokk 2003

T

TDP

I use MS Outlook 2003. I keep getting a reminder for an item that is no
longer on my calendar. When I get the reminder window and I click on
"Dismiss" I get the error message:

"Cannot turn-off reminder. You may be reminded again. One or more
parameter values are not valid."

I've done a search in my Calendar for this item, and I cannot see it.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

This does not work on my system. I have tried this, I have tried every fix I
have found in google searching. Scanpst didn't work. MCFMAPI program didn't
work. I've even deleted the item I'm still getting reminders of. Short of
uninstalling and re-installing outlook, I don't know what to do! Outlook
2007, Windows XP.

Anyone?

I am having the same problem, and have tried all of the suggested fixes
without success. I do sync with my Blackberry Bold, ATT network. This is
very annoying as it occurs often. Help!

I just realized that I posted under Outlook 2003, not 2007. I will re-post
under 2007. Still, if you are able to help, please do. Thanks. CDG

Try using the /cleanreminders command line switch as described here:

No need to start a new thread - as long as we know the version, we can keep
it in this thread.

Sp cleanreminders switch didn't help and neither did deleting the
appointment that the reminder is on?

This really works to get rid of the annoying calendar reminder!!!
Go to Calendar on the lefthand side the monthly small calendar click all
calendar items then click the circle by recurring appointments. All of your
recurring appointments will display in the subject box to the right and all
you have to do is delete the ones that you do not want. Tocheck they are gone
click on the view on the toolbar and reminders window, it should be empty.

I wrote this further down the list. Go to calendar on the lefthand side
under the small monthly calendar and click on all calendar items click the
circle by recurring appointments. All of your recurring appointments should
be displayed in the subject box to the right then all you need to do is
delete the appointments that you do not want. To check that they are gone on
the toolbar click on view then reminders window and it should be empty.

To clarify for others, you applied the Recurring Appointments view (not
everyone shows the View selector under their folder list) and deleted the
recurring events you no longer needed.
