Cancelling mail to function

I made the mistake of selecting send to mail as an attachment and then
decided no to send the document. Now the mail header containing the To...,
cc..., etc is stuck at the top of the document. How do you get rid of this
if you decide not to mail a document? I shouldn't have to mail it to someone
just to get rid of that header.
