Cancelling Find

M

Mary Powell

I am working with a long document, and sometimes I need
to go to a particular section so I use Find to search for
a unique work of phrase that I recall from the section in
question. My problem is that, having found what I what, I
cannot then use Control Page UP to move through the
document because it prompts the Find every time I try it.
Find is useful, but how can I cancel it or end it???
Thanks for any help.

Hi, Mary,

Look at the bottom right corner, just below the vertical scrollbar. There
are two double-arrow up and down buttons, with a circle between them. The
double-arrow buttons have the same function as Ctrl+PageUp and
Ctrl+PageDown. When you do a Find, the double-arrows turn blue to indicate
that they've changed from Previous/Next Page to Previous/Next Find.

To return to the previous setting or any of the other possible GoTo targets,
click the circle button (the tip when you position the mouse over it says
"Select Browse Object"). A picture menu pops up with a dozen selections;
"browse by page" is the one in the top right corner.
