Hi
I want to stop XP trying to re-install. I tried to use 'Detect & Repair' in
Outlook, and it asked for the XP Pro CD. I put it in but the CD was
cracked, so the repair failed. So I cancelled. I'll try to see if I can
get a replacement CD from Microsoft! But now when I try to open Excel it
won't open and goes in to the re-install routine, looking for the CD. It
will open Word, Outlook etc but not Excel..Can anyone suggets a work-around,
please?
Thanks in advance,
David

One should always own the CD for the OS they want to continue to use.

Are you sure it asked for your XP CD? It should have asked for your
Office CD but not your XP one.

I have done several Office detect/repairs and not once has it asked
for the Operating System CD. It will ask for the Office CD though.
