Angel,

You can, but it's not necessarily the best tool for the job :)

The old powerpoint 97 use to come with some ready made templates just for
"web pages".

File > save as html (or publish to webpage)

will get you the webpages

What TAJ said and ...

If you have a PowerPoint presentation that you want to put on the Web,
using PowerPoint to convert it to a Web page is likely to be a good
option. If you want to build a Web page from scratch, you should consider
using a tool that is designed for that purpose (e.g., FrontPage, GoLive,
etc.).

How do you publish more than one slide as webpages? I have done this and
only one slide on the presentation is saved - do you have to save each slide
as a separate webpage?

Since we can't look over your shoulder, perhaps you can outline the exact
steps you ahve taken. Normally, File > Save As Web Page works. You have
options to either save as a single web page (*.mht) or web site (*.htm).
Either way, you should be able to see all your slides.

Sorry but we've tried this and it doesn't work. The only options we have are -

1. save as a single web page (*.mht)
2. save as web page (*.htm)

There is no option to save as a web site. We are using PP2003.

Yes, those are the options. The first one builds a single-page site; that
is, it puts everything into one file. The second builds a series of pages
(generally one for each slide) as a whole site. Either way, you should be
able to view all your pages in a browser. The pages that it creates are
best viewed with Internet Explorer unless you have chosen other options.

Since you are trying to create a Web site, perhaps you could post what
you come up with to the Web and post the URL here so someone can look at
it.

Thanks for your reply - the ppt is on another colleague's pc so I don't have
a copy. Each time we save as a web page we only get one page/slide published
not them all.

In the save dialog, click on the button labeled "Publish" and be sure that
"Publish what?" has Complete presentation checked.

The default is to save the entire presentation. Don't be misled by the fact
that PowerPoint creates only a single HTML file when you publish as web pages.
It creates that one file PLUS a whole folder full of other support files;
these need to be published to the web site as well.

If you doubleclick that one lone html file, you should see your whole
presentation.

PowerPoint doesn't create sites, not in any real sense of the term.
It creates HTML/Web versions of presentations.
If the presentation happens to look and behave like a site, then you're in
business.

Gee,

Did you ever get a good answer to your question? I created a power point
file so that it looks exactly like I want my web site to look. Is there an
easy way to turn this power point file into a web site? Do I need to get
Front Page? Did you ever get a good answer for this problem?
