Can you upgrade RC1 to RC2?

I have the RC2 disk: Is it supposed to be able to upgrade RC1 or will it
only clean install over or next to?

Upgrade is supported. Start the process from your RC1 desktop, not by
booting with the DVD.

Just did an upgrade to RC2 from RC1 and it worked (took much longer then
clean install).

Would an install upgrade be better than a clean install if RC1 is working
fine but a clean install of RC2 caused problems?

Hi Pippin,

The only reason I did the upgrade and not a clean install was because I had
installed other programs in Vista and didn't want to re-install them. I guess
if you only had Vista installed, a clean install would be faster/bette.

Thank you Jeff deep down I knew a clean install is the best which is why I
did this when RC2 was released but then had the problems as it definitely
didn't run as smoothly as RC1 is running atm. RC1 is a lot smoother for me
plus I think even better since I re-installed. I hate anything to beat me but
I definitely had preformance issues with RC2 plus the fact my screen
resolution was back to beta2 whereas RC1 has this set perfectly.

I am tempted to try again for a complete clean install my drawbck is
installing Office 2007 + One Note + the Tech refresh and then set all my
accounts up again. I will have to try and work out why RC2 which was meant to
have bugs fixed gave me more issues than any of the previous versions - 'bad
hair' day last weekend for Vista and me ;)

Will have to seriously consider especially when RC1 is working so nicely.
Thanks for your help.

Me, I wanted to give the upgrade the chance, and it worked OK. I have the
default printer problem but it appears to be solved by putting inserting a
"z" before the printer I want to be the default. It did take a long time to
upgrade but I'm not sure how long. It had to reboot about five times and
since I have a BIOS password it would not continue until I entered the
password. So my upgrade too about six hours. :)
