Can you tell if a person read the e-mail you sent?

I know there was in the older version - the envelope was closed in your sent
items, if it was open that meant they read your e-mail... Wondering if their
is a way to tell in 2007? If anyone knows - that would be great.

It is not possible to know if the recepient has read the mail you sent
You can request a read receipt, but that can be ignored, and not everyone
will receive that receipt
