I am trying to set a rule for a distribution group that I am in however it is
being Bcc on the email. When I go to set the rule there is no Bcc option.

Does anyone know of a way to set a Bcc email rule?

Hi,
you can´t create a rule with a Bcc Option by using the normal rules.
Maybe you could programm a script, but I don´t know if its working!
Try to watch on www.outlookcode.com
maybe someone there have such a script!
(but I don´t think so)

What are you trying to do with the rule? There may be another approach.

If you say you can - than how do you do it?

You can set up such a rule... you can flag it and if you want, change the
text of the flag to say that you were BCC'd so you won;t forget what the
flag is for.

I have the same wish as PDB. In my case, I accidentally hit a Reply All to
a
message where I was included on the bcc. All the people on the original
distribution list now know that the sender included me on the bcc which
betrays the confidence of the original sender.

So, if I can setup a rule to mark incoming messages with a colored flag if
I
am not on the to list or the cc list then this will help to prevent me
from
screwing my friends over again in the future!

Create a Rule that looks for messages where you are not in the To or CC
line. Set the Action to flag for follow up and in the for follow-up field,
type something - maybe "Do not REPLY to ALL!!!!"

You could also use a view to highlight mail not sent to your or cc'd to you
in a different color, but views are not as persistent as flags are.

I don't have a "not in the To or CC" I just have the not in "not in the To"
rule. Is there a spot that has different rules that you can download?

Jeff

Oh - and "Thank You" in advance.

No, you can't download updates to the rules. What version of outlook do you
use?

When you need a negative condition, use an exception - try applying it to
all mail, except where you are in the to and cc field.
